Foreign Minister Yván Gil honors the 32 Cuban heroes who died in defense of Venezuela

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, Yván Gil, paid tribute to the 32 Cuban fighters who gave their lives in defense of Venezuela during the U.S. military aggression on January 3.
Gil stressed that these martyrs represent a permanent symbol of solidarity and commitment between both Peoples, recalling that their dedication is part of a historical relationship based on dignity, sovereignty and the common defense of regional peace.
The foreign minister accompanied the Cuban ambassador to Venezuela, Jorge Luis Mayo Fernández, in a wreath ceremony before the Liberator Simon Bolivar, on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. On behalf of the Bolivarian Government and the Venezuelan People, he said that “it has been a true honor to participate in this commemoration together with the representative of the Cuban Government.”
Gil emphasized that the Cuban Revolution marked a turning point for the peoples of the world, promoting international cooperation by sending doctors and educators to sister nations, as well as a regional vision focused on peace, independence and sovereignty.
The Foreign Minister reiterated that Venezuela maintains its commitment to defend the self-determination of Peoples and to deepen the historic ties that unite both nations.
