Foreign ministers of Venezuela and Colombia ratify defense of historic ties for peace

The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, met this Monday with his counterpart from the Republic of Colombia, Rosa Villavicencio, on the sidelines of the Summit of Presidents and Heads of States of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which is being held in the New Granada country.

During the meeting, both foreign ministers ratified their “commitment to deepen and defend our historic ties and to work to ensure a path of peace and prosperity for our peoples,” Gil said in a message posted on his social networks.

Also, in the framework of this important meeting, the Venezuelan diplomat greeted the Colombian vice-president, Francia Márquez; as well as the Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, and the Foreign Minister of Haiti, Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, “to whom we convey the fraternal greetings of President Nicolás Maduro Moros”.

Foreign Minister Gil arrived in Santa Marta on Saturday, to participate on November 9 and 10 in the IV Summit of CELAC and the European Union (EU), with the main objective of strengthening multilateralism, cooperation and regional integration.
