The foreign ministers of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Cuba, Yván Gil and Bruno Rodríguez, respectively, exchanged greetings this Monday in Geneva, Switzerland, in order to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and ratify mutual support in multilateral spaces.

“It has been an enormous pleasure to greet the Foreign Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, a true friend of Venezuela and of all the peoples who are fighting for their self-determination,” said the Venezuelan diplomat on his Telegram channel , after the meeting held in the context of the 58th Session of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations (UN).

Foreign Minister Gil transmitted, through his counterpart from the West Indies, “an affectionate embrace to the people and Government of Cuba, a fundamental ally in our struggle in the Geneva Human Rights Council, where we defend truth and international law,” he stressed.

Bilateral relations between Caracas and Havana were strengthened with the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution in 1999. Since then, both peoples have ratified the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation in various areas, such as health, education, energy and tourism.
