This Sunday, Venezuelans will go to the electoral centers to exercise their right to vote to elect the President of the Republic who will govern the next six-year term beginning on January 10, 2025.
This contest is attended by representatives of opposition extremism, which seeks to present itself as an alternative to governance, promoting discourses of unity, inclusion and respect for the will of the People, which crumble after recalling their history of the last 25 years marked by violence, coup, conspiracy, sabotage, illegality and the demand for sanctions against the country's economy.
“We are going to get paid”, has been one of the phrases repeatedly uttered by those who today present themselves as a “leader” promoting the election of a candidate who has the consent of imperialism, an announcement that could be interpreted as the revenge of surnames against the People who have denied them the possibility of accessing power.
These characters, who try to present themselves as new actors, have actually been present in each and every one of the unconstitutional attempts that the Venezuelan right has launched to break the popular will exercised through the vote.
The coup in its essence
On April 11, the surnames, together with traitor soldiers, carried out a coup against President Hugo Chávez, for which they created a death scene that would justify to the world the overthrow of the legitimate Government.
After placing snipers at the Ausonia and Edén hotels located on Baralt Avenue across the Miraflores Palace, the organizers of an opposition rally decided to request that he leave for the headquarters of the Executive, where they were victims of gunshots that caused more than a dozen deaths - mostly gunshots to the head - and several injured, who, through the collaboration of the media, attributed to government militants whom they called “the gunmen of Llaguno”.
This successful coup had its inauguration ceremony of the dictatorship on April 12, where, with cheers, businessman Pedro Carmona Estanga swore himself in as “President”, dissolved all the Powers of the Republic and invited those present to sign the unconstitutional decree that included María Corina Machado among its initiators.
After the brief period of the representative of the surnames as dictator, in Venezuela, repressive and persecution actions were carried out against members of the Government of President Chávez, revolutionary leaders and militants, and the harassing action against the Cuban embassy in Venezuela was historic, where, under the presumption of meeting Diosdado Cabello, his services were cut off and Henrique Capriles tried to enter without the ambassador's endorsement.
“Diosdado Cabello and his band, they're going to have to eat the carpets”, is the phrase that was engraved from that fascist violence.
Already in 2019, in a ridiculous attempt to reissue April 11, April 30, the self-sworn “interim president” Juan Guaidó, appeared in La Carlota announcing a military uprising that was nothing more than a cheap copy of what happened 17 years earlier and which was dubbed the “banana coup”.
Oil strike
After the failure of the coup d'etat, the surnames set in motion a new plan to overthrow the Government of President Chávez, for which they used the elite that led Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) who launched an oil strike that left Venezuela without gasoline and without income by paralyzing exports. To this were added the shops and with the speech “the strike stings and extends until we leave this Government”.
This action, which cost the country billions of dollars in losses, was supported by the entire Venezuelan right, its political parties and its so-called NGOs, including Súmate led by María Corina Machado.
The infallible song of “fraud”
With the defeat of the coup strike -which they never lifted- comes the activation of the constitutional mechanism of the recall referendum where, after being defeated by a large margin by the option of “No”, the leadership chose to point out that a “fraud” had been committed.
The person in charge of “reporting” the “fraud” was the adeco leader Henry Ramos Allup, who assured that “in the next few hours we will present the evidence”, an action he never took and that today is a reason for ridicule.
One of the sponsors of this strategy was the organization Súmate de Machado, which had been responsible for collecting the signatures that were mostly false.
After this, with the exception of the 2006, 2007, 2012 and 2015 processes, the right wing has pointed out the existence of fraud in the rest of the electoral processes, where phrases such as Henrique Capriles Radonski's calls to “unload the rush”, an action that left more than a dozen dead and the attack on hospital and government buildings.
Guarimbera and terrorist violence
After the electoral failures and the absence of military support for armed action, the surnames appeal to the execution of the violence that began with the plans to seize the Miraflores Palace and assassinate President Chávez with the use of Colombian paramilitaries, known as Daktari, who was neutralized by state intelligence and security agencies.
Later, violent protests were promoted at the hands of young people where burning, destruction and sabotage were the daily practice of those who sought to create a climate of instability that would destroy the Government.
This strategy, which was born in 2007, was put back into practice in 2014 where María Corina Machado, Leopoldo López and Antonio Ledezma promoted “La Salida” and then came the guarimbas of 2017, which, after more than a hundred deaths and terrorist actions that greatly affected the economy, succumbed to the massive participation of Venezuelans for the election of a National Constituent Assembly convened by President Maduro.
Sanctions and more sanctions
After the failure of the violent strategy of destruction, there was a worldwide crusade to request the blockade of the country “until the regime leaves”.
As a result, Venezuela lost 99% of its revenues, as well as the possibility of acquiring goods, services and medicines in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This criminal strategy that sought the overthrow of the Government through the total collapse that would lead to a social outbreak had as its main spokespersons Julio Borges, Carlos Vecchio, Leopoldo López, Juan Guaidó and María Corina Machado, the latter who went so far as to express her request for the intervention of an “international military force” to put an end to the “dictatorship” through an invasion.
Today, one day before the elections, the intellectual and material authors of all these anti-Venezuelan and criminal actions are presented as an “option for the future”, in an attempt to hide the fact that although they disguise themselves as democrats and people, they are the same destroyers, terrorists and stateless persons of these 25 years.
