Fraiber Rodríguez and Ana Mendoza win bronze in mixed team goal in Central American and Caribbean

Venezuelans Fraiber Rodríguez and Ana Mendoza scored bronze in the mixed team composite bow modality at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.

The Criollos took the bronze prize after winning close to the X in a 155-155 playoff against Rodrigo González and Andrea Becerra, from Mexico.

Rodríguez was the protagonist of the match when his arrow hit the X, closer to the center than his rivals, and thus uneven the score.

“We have been doing a very hard job with my partner. I had to focus on his state, in Portuguesa, to be able to make the mixed team; we were getting involved little by little and here in the competition we saw the work,” said goalkeeper Rodríguez, press review by the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.

For his part, Mendoza said that the fight for the medal against Mexico was very tough, “the female shooter is the first in the world today and the men's shooter is also among the first, so it was a well-fought medal.”

The Venezuelan duo had previously beaten Salvadorans Douglas Nolasco and Camila Alvarenga 152-151 in the quarterfinal stage to advance to the semifinals, where they were beaten 155-152 by Pablo Gómez and Sara López, from Colombia.

Previously, Mendoza had loaned 144-143 to Mexico's Ana Hernández in the quest for bronze in the individual composite modality.
