This Wednesday, a new day of anti-government protests that seek to paralyze the European country began, the same day that Sébastien Lecornu, an associate of President Emmanuel Macron, took office as prime minister.
The goal of the “Block Everything” movement, which has been organized independently of unions and parties, is to paralyze the country. However, more than 200 people were arrested at the start of the demonstrations.
According to police forces, this movement could resort to sabotage and blockades on highways, supermarkets, refineries, electrical installations, hospitals, schools or airports.
Telesur explained that 80,000 gendarmes and police officers will be deployed today with instructions to be inflexible and suppress the activists of a movement that in some ways recalls the insurgency of the “yellow vests” in 2018.
It is estimated that 100,000 people will participate in various activities in France; most of them are young and many have a left-wing ideology.
