Francisco Segura will be the new coach of the men's basketball team

Spanish coach Francisco “Curro” Segura will be in charge of managing the Venezuelan national team, announced the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB).

The strategist will assume the leadership of the team prior to the first window of the Americas Qualifiers for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, which will be played between November 27 and November 1.

Venezuela, in the first window, will visit Colombia on the 27th, in the city of Cali and then receive the same rival in Caracas, on the 30th. Both teams compete in Group C alongside Brazil and Chile.

Segura, 53, has led in the first and second division of the Spanish leagues and has also done so in countries such as China, Uruguay, Greece, Egypt and Venezuela.
