Venezuelan Josef Martínez did not reach an agreement to renew Major League Soccer (MLS) with CF Montreal and is leaving the franchise.

The information was released by journalist Tom Bogert, through his social networks.

This year the Venezuelan played only 24 games after suffering an injury, however, he scored 13 goals, of which 8 were his last 6 games. He also provided 3 assists.

Sports media report that the Venezuelan is being targeted by several teams, including Valencia CF, Palmeiras and Botafogo, who have shown interest in adding the 31-year-old attacker.

Martinez established himself in the U.S. league as one of the most effective attackers since 2017, scoring 100 goals in record time. He played in the MLS at Atlanta United, Inter Miami and CF Montreal.
