A group of Peruvian congressmen, led by Margot Palacios, filed a vacancy motion against the interim president of Peru, Dina Boluarte, reported the Russia Today website.

He points out that the authors of the motion argue their decision because of the “permanent moral incapacity” of the president, “who improperly holds office”, after the scandal “of the Rolexes and the jeweler who cannot justify”.

After a search carried out at the house of the head of state, the Free Peru political party managed to obtain the necessary signatures to formalize the request for the motion.

Soon after, the Judiciary admitted a habeas corpus submitted by Marco Riveros Ramos, Boluarte's lawyer, after the search.

“Throughout his dictatorial government, Boluarte has transgressed the Constitution and has remained unpunished for his crimes against humanity, showing permanent moral incapacity, always with the support of the parliamentary right that has thwarted various vacancy motions,” Palacios said in a statement.

For their part, the Popular Force party caucus indicated in a statement that they expect the president to clarify the situation before public opinion, since “the presidential institution is affected by the lack of a timely response.”

They also urged the Public Prosecutor's Office to rule on the outcome of the proceedings.

Last week, Boluarte assured that he “is not afraid” of the possible vacancy motion that they will present against him in the Congress of the Republic because of the scandal. “It would be the second vacancy motion,” he recalled.

Boluarte thus responded to the announcement of the Peru Libre caucus, which announced on March 20 that it will file a new vacancy motion against the country's president for not having demonstrated the origin and method of obtaining her watch.
