FRENADESO describes Edmundo González's presence in Panama as infamous

This Wednesday, through a statement, the National Front for the Defense of Economic and Social Rights (FRENADESO) of Panama, alerted its People and the Peoples of the world to the arrival of former far-right candidate Edmundo González Urritia to their country.

FRENADESO described the presence of Edmundo González and his entourage in Panama as infamous; a country that has suffered several times from armed American aggression at the level of massacre and genocide, such as that of January 9, 1964 and December 20, 1989, respectively.

TRUMP'S ALLIES MEET IN PANAMA

Last night, January 7, the former Venezuelan right-wing candidate and renowned CIA agent, implicated in the murders of Catholic nuns and priests in El Salvador in the 80s when he served as Ambassador to that country, Edmundo González, arrived in Panama.

The purpose of this thankless visit is to continue using our territory as a center of conspiracy of the international right and as a ramp of aggression against other peoples in the region.

González will be accompanied by former presidents who in their countries committed all kinds of harassment and acts of repression and injustices against their peoples and who left a burden of theft and corruption that still has dire consequences on the lives of their citizens. In the case of Panama, we are talking about the unpresentable Mireya Moscoso and Ernesto Pérez Balladares, characters without any moral authority to talk to others about human rights and democracy, who in their wanderings are supported by the hegemonic media and vending politicians just like them, as is the case of the capital's mayor Mayer Mizrachi, whose decree on January 9 constitutes an affront to the heroes and martyrs of the Fatherland.

We are faced with another media show than they usually do, without any immediate real consequences, except that of gradually creating the conditions to increase Yankee interventionism in an increasingly convulsed world where the extreme right and fascism are more aggressively showing their desperation in the face of the decline of the system and the world order they imposed and which is seriously beginning to falter due to the advance of popular, revolutionary, progressive, humanist, democratic, environmentalist and peace-loving forces throughout the planet.

The Mulino Government receives them, despite having previously stated to international media that it was unaware of the visit. And that is where this situation becomes more outrageous and unjustifiable, since it comes a few hours after the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has threatened to use military force to seize the Panama Canal.

What international support could the Mulino Government request for the Panamanian cause, if it is at the same time complicit in the aggression of the United States and the international extreme right, if it favors policies that violate the sovereignty and self-determination of other peoples?

We express our total repudiation of the infamous presence of Edmundo González and his entourage in Panama, a country that has suffered armed Yankee aggression on different occasions at the level of massacre and genocide such as that of January 9, 1964 and December 20, 1989, respectively.

We advocate respect for international law, for dialogued and negotiated solutions to conflicts in other countries and for non-foreign intervention, wherever it comes from.
