French and Venezuelan authorities succeeded in seizing more than a ton of cocaine

The French Navy detained, 55 nautical miles from the island of Martinique, a vessel flying the Venezuelan flag in which 1,155 kilos of cocaine were being transported, according to the national anti-drug superintendent, M/G Richard López Vargas.
Through a series of messages published on his X account, López Vargas details that this was a joint action between Venezuelan and French authorities who shared intelligence to achieve this important blow against drug trafficking.
For this fact, 3 citizens were arrested. One of Venezuelan nationality, one Colombian and one Uruguayan.
“In line with Article 17 of the Vienna Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, Venezuela reached 25,032,718 kg of drugs seized in 2024, an increase of 5.18% compared to 2023,” López Vargas reported.
