Friendship and Solidarity Group with Venezuela in Azerbaijan demands respect for sovereignty

The Azerbaijan Friendship and Solidarity Group with Venezuela rejected any attempt at foreign intervention and expressed their support for the Venezuelan people.

“Defending Venezuela is defending peace and world sovereignty,” says a statement issued by the members of the group, gathered in the city of Baku, where they raised their voices against imperialist aggressions and emphasized that Venezuela represents a country of peace and hope.

In the text, they pointed out that “the peoples of the Caribbean are independent and sovereign nations that want to live in peace”, and they joined the global solidarity campaign with the South American nation.

The group denounced the manipulation of threats by the United States against Venezuela and stressed that the South American country has decided to build its own destiny and that its people are steadfast in their vocation to freedom. They also condemned the use of violence as a tool of domination.

“We reject the use of force to resolve conflicts between nations,” they said, while reiterating their opposition to war as a mechanism of international pressure. The statement insisted on the need to preserve peace as a fundamental principle of coexistence between peoples.
