The Latin American Foundation for Human Rights and Social Development (FUNDALATIN), through a statement, repudiated the violation of the human rights of Venezuelan migrants committed by the United States government, in support of El Salvador.

Below is the full text of the statement:

The Latin American Foundation for Human Rights and Social Development (FUNDALATIN) repudiates the systematic violations of human rights committed by the authorities of the United States of America, who kidnapped more than 200 Venezuelan migrants, subjecting them to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and forcibly deporting them to prisons in El Salvador, flagrantly violating the Charter of the United Nations, International Human Rights Law, and other international instruments.

We demand that the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the various UN mechanisms, strongly condemn the criminalization and kidnapping of these Venezuelans and unhesitatingly defend their human rights, guarantees and dignity in the face of the persecution to which our compatriots are being subjected.

We condemn the silence surrounding the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights when it comes to Venezuelan migrants who have been victims of xenophobia, discrimination, hatred, racism, labor exploitation, and other abuses

and violations of their rights.

We remind the High Commissioner of his duty to defend the UN's founding Charter and demand that the United States comply with its human rights obligations, ensuring the protection of all these Venezuelan migrants, whose illegal imprisonment puts their lives in imminent danger.

We also urge the High Commissioner to demand that the government of El Salvador immediately release Venezuelan migrants who were forcibly deported to their jails and to ensure that all are guaranteed medical care, adequate food and drinking water.

We ask all the families of Venezuelans kidnapped in prisons in El Salvador to write to the email: fundalatin@ @gmail .com sending us their testimony to process their complaint to international organizations.

We pray that our Venezuelan compatriots will return home soon.
