FUNVISIS reported a magnitude 4.5 earthquake in the state of Zulia

This Thursday, January 1, the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research (FUNVISIS), reported an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 that occurred 24 kilometers northeast of Villa del Rosario, Zulia state.

Information published by FUNVISIS on its social networks indicates that the earthquake had a depth of 35.2 kilometers.

The earthquake occurred at 8:37am and its epicenter was located at coordinates 10,392 N -72,125 W.

The earthquake was felt in Maracaibo and other surrounding municipalities.

So far, no material damage or fatalities have been reported.
