Elon Musk's recent comment on the German political class could heighten tensions between the United States (US) and Germany, as stated by Rolf Mützenich, member of the Bundestag and head of the parliamentary group of Olaf Scholz's Social Democratic Party (SPD), Russia Today (RT) explained.

During an interview with Der Spiegel published last Wednesday, Mützenich points out that Musk, an ally of the elected president of the United States, Donald Trump, exceeded “the limits of what is admissible between two friendly states”, and he also denounces that his “verbal attacks against” German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier are directed “against all citizens” of the country.

Musk called the German Head of State an “anti-democratic tyrant”, shortly after attacking the chancellor of the European country, Olaf Scholz, whom he called a “shit of shit... “, playing a word game with his name, while predicting his defeat in the early German parliamentary elections, scheduled for February.

Scholz lashed out at Musk in his New Year's speech, urging voters not to let “social media owners” decide the results of early elections.

“The future of Germany will depend on the majority of reasonable and decent people. It is not the one who shouts the loudest who determines what happens” in the country, he said.
