In the Padre Pedro Chien municipality, in the city of El Palmar, in the state of Bolívar, the First Vaccination Cycle 2026 against foot-and-mouth disease began, with plans to vaccinate 375,000 people in the region.
For this national plan carried out in the entity, more than 500 veterinarians will participate, who will be deployed in the 11 municipalities of the entity.
The governor of the entity, Yulisbeth García, during the vaccination day, assured that the entity has a complete focused plan to make the transfer dynamic as expeditious as possible.
“We are deployed with our mayors and mayors to ensure the success of the first 2026 vaccination cycle against foot-and-mouth disease (...) we have the goal of vaccinating more than 375,000 animals throughout the state; we have more than 670 routes and more than 500 young veterinarians, ready to accompany us,” he explained.
The regional authority specified that, although Bolívar is known for its mineral and natural wealth, it is also part of “an agro-productive epicenter that seeks once again to position itself among the 5 states of the country as producers of milk and meat.”
He also noted that during the last half of 2025 there was a significant increase in livestock production, “this is due to the successful policies of a Government that remains with its producers during the local consolidation process.”
According to a report by the Ministry of Popular Power for Agriculture, in recent years, producers in the state of Bolivar have mobilized efforts in the genetic area, also demonstrating their ability to join new challenges and present their knowledge at the national level and be presented at national and international fairs.
