The Venezuelan U17 national soccer team made its debut with victory in the 2025 Half of the World Cup, after beating the Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito, in Ecuador, 2-1.

The first goal scored by the Criollos came in the 41st minute courtesy of the young battering ram Pablo Silva. The second and final goal was scored by Juan Uribe in the 80th minute.

Those led by Oswaldo Vizcarrondo are keeping up the good streak, they have just become champions of the Canteras de América Tournament and will try to repeat their performance in Ecuador.

Both tournaments are part of the preparation for the 2025 World Cup in Qatar, which will take place between November 3 and 27, in which Venezuela will face England, Haiti and Egypt for the group stage.
