The technology company Google plans to eliminate its hiring policies for minorities, such as African Americans and Latinos, and is considering eliminating or reducing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) grants and training, according to The Wall Street Journal.

According to an internal email, addressed to employees cited by the media, it indicates that the company will stop setting goals to increase the representation of African-Americans and Latinos, among other groups.

They will also review DEI programs to align them with the new policies of the administration of the President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump.

These inclusion policies were part of a Google initiative to increase representation in leadership positions by 2025, following the assassination of George Floyd in 2020. Although progress was made, it fell short of the target.

Google joins the decision of other companies on these programs, driven by political change in the United States and Trump's decision to dismantle similar federal programs, described as a waste of public funds.
