As of this Wednesday, October 22, more than 4,760 older adults in the Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi commune of the Simón Bolívar municipality in the state of Anzoátegui, have the first Community House for the Elderly, located on Avenida 3 de Tronconal II in Barcelona.

It is a cozy and safe space, where they can enjoy recreational activities and have medical services. This project, planned in the Specific Agenda for Action (ACA) of that commune, materialized with resources from a popular consultation.

“This was an idle, abandoned space and today it is a place for life, joy and recreation for all grandparents and grandmothers, and I am happy because it is the first care center for adults created from communes to communes. This is what we have been working for and will continue to do so,” said the mayor of Barcelona, Sugey Herrera, quoted in a local press release.
