Government of Aragua promotes Holiday Sports Camps 2026

With the purpose of strengthening sports training and promoting the sports participation of children and young people in communities, the Government of the state of Aragua, through the Regional Sports Institute of Aragua (IRDA), presented this Thursday the program of the Aragua Holiday Sports Camps 2026, an initiative that was created with the purpose of attracting sports talent in various municipalities of the entity.

According to a regional press review, the announcement was made at the Mauricio Johnson Gymnasium of the Las Delicias Sports Center and was led by the governor of the state of Aragua, Joana Sánchez, who highlighted the importance of creating spaces for training, recreation and talent acquisition, accompanied by athletes and professionals from different sports disciplines.

Among the announced activities is the Voley Camp del Aragua Volleyball Club, which takes place for four weeks, from August 10 to September 4, at the Mauricio Johnson Gymnasium. This training camp includes four groups of approximately 40 athletes, distributed according to their ages and categories. The Olympic athlete and member of the Venezuelan national team, María José Pérez; the professional players of the Aragua Voleibol Club Dora Barrios, Rolmari Limada and Johanberling Díaz; and the member of the national team Iván Fernández, participate as instructors and instructors. In addition, Juan Arango's 318 Performance Camp was announced, in partnership with the Aragua Football Club, scheduled from August 31 to September 4 at the Hermanos Ghersi Páez Olympic Stadium. This activity will be aimed at about 150 athletes, aged between 5 and 17 , and will include the participation of Juan Arango, Renny Vega and Alexander “Pequeño” Rondón.

As part of the vacation program, the IRDA will develop a Free Program of Holiday Sports Clinics, which will bring training and training experiences closer to children and young people from different municipalities in Aragüeña. This agenda includes a futsal camp on Friday, August 21, at 9 in the morning on the multipurpose court of the Julio Bracho Sports Complex, Venezuela Heroica commune, José Casanova Godoy parish, Girardot municipality. The clinic will be run by Aragüeño professional futsal players.

Volleyball will take place on Saturday, August 22, at 9 in the morning, at the “Luis Pacheco” Gymnasium, Santa Rita de Casia parish, Francisco Linares Alcántara municipality, with players from the Aragua Volleyball Club. The soccer field will meet on Friday, August 28, at 9 in the morning at the Aguirre Stadium, La Gran Carpiera commune, Cagua parish, Sucre municipality, with professional players from the Aragua Football Club.

Finally, the basketball camp is scheduled to be held on Saturday, August 29, at 9 in the morning on the Campo Alegre 1 court, Campo de Luchadores Bolívar y Chávez commune, José Casanova Godoy parish, Girardot municipality. Professional player Michael Flores and members of the Aragua state basketball team will participate there.
