The Government of Carabobo activated a strategic plan for the comprehensive recovery of the Guataparo Reservoir, located in the San José parish of the municipality of Valencia in this entity.
The Secretary General of Government, Jesús París, reported that the intention of the project is to establish a route that will allow them to optimize space for entertainment and the enjoyment of the different sports disciplines that are practiced in the place.
He commented that the strategic plan will be developed in conjunction with HIDROCENTRO because the dam is an alternative source for the supply of vital liquid in the entity.
“All the competent entities are working together on this ambitious project announced by our governor Rafael Lacava to mark the path we are going to take for the recovery of this important space, which is not only an alternative source for the supply of drinking water, but also an ideal point for the recreation of our town and which facilitates the practice of water sports,” he said.
In this regard, the president of HIDROCENTRO, Leonel Ruíz, pointed out that the plan contemplates the control of the height of the body of water, the evaluation of the consumption of the vital liquid and the preservation of its drinkability and asserted that the regional government expects to work hand in hand with the popular power of the adjacent areas with regard to the maintenance and conservation of the place.
Ruíz explained that the Secretariat of Spatial Planning, Ecosocialism and Natural Resources (SOTERN), the Carabobeña Foundation for Sports Development (Fundadeporte), the Carabobo Integrated Emergency System and representatives in the entity of the Ministry of Popular Power for the Communes and the Ombudsman's Office also participate in the plan.
“At HIDROCENTRO we are committed to taking care of this reservoir, which is why our work will be focused on the preservation and maintenance of this space, which is an alternative source of supply for an important part of Greater Valencia, so moving forward in various vertices will bring us great fruits in the future for the benefit of our people,” he said.
