Government of Caracas promotes responsible energy consumption

In order to raise awareness about the efficient use of water and electricity, they held a meeting with the People's Power in El Paraíso, to channel efficient, tangible and immediate solutions for the well-being of citizens.

The head of government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández, led this meeting where he highlighted the importance of energy solidarity from Caracas, given that saving energy in the capital helps to release loads in the National Electricity System (SEN), to help states with high temperatures such as Falcón, Zulia, Táchira and Monagas.

“If people use air conditioning at night, that's fine, use it at night, but during the day, when you go out and there's no one in the apartment, turn off the air, turn it off, because every watt you save in Caracas, you're helping Falcón, you're helping Zulia,” he emphasized.

He also mentioned that this mini-campaign seeks to raise awareness to protect electricity and take care of water; in turn, he said that in Caracas the water comes by repumping, where there are 120 motors that come from Camatagua to Caracas.

“If there's no electricity, there's no water, and if there's no water, there's no electricity, because one goes with the other. So, it's a matter of learning to take care of those systems,” he explained.

The objective of these meetings is to learn about the concerns of citizens to be addressed and ensure total habitability and security in each home, while promoting savings habits such as turning off air conditioners when leaving home or requesting self-generation in shopping centers during peak hours of greatest heat.
