Government of Guiana Esequiba attends to the indigenous Kariña community of Los Waikas during a medical day

A total of 300 members of the indigenous Kariña community Los Waikas received comprehensive medical care during a health deployment carried out in the state of Guayana Esequiba.

According to information provided by the government of the entity through its account on the social network Instagram, during the day, consultations were offered for general medicine, pediatrics, care for the elderly and control of pregnant women, as well as days on deworming, elimination of hypertension, diabetes and sexually transmitted diseases. In addition, immunization doses against yellow fever were applied.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Esequibo Social Action Foundation and the regional Ministry of Health, in compliance with assistance plans coordinated with the National Executive to guarantee the social protection of indigenous peoples .
