With the planting of almond seeds, beach grapes and clemón, key species of the coastal strip, the reforestation plan promoted by the government of La Guaira began.
The actions estimate the production and planting of at least 10,000 plants during 2026 as part of their environmental strategy in the face of climate change.
The information was provided by Evelyn Romero, the Government's ecosocialism liaison, who stressed that for two months a collective effort has been carried out focused on collecting seeds of their own species in different parishes on the central coast, including Macuto, Caraballeda, Naiguatá and Carlos Soublette, details a local press release.
Romero specified that these species have been prioritized for their resistance to the climatic conditions of the coastal zone and their ecological value, while stressing that the initiative is open to all citizens, regardless of organizations, appealing to a sense of belonging and environmental co-responsibility.
He explained that the plants will be distributed according to the thermal levels of the state; coastal, xerophilous and mountainous, with the aim of ensuring their adaptation and survival. He also indicated that the planting days will be held weekly, especially on Fridays, in coordination with institutions and organized communities.
