Government of Spain banned the passage of arms from the United States through its bases for Israel

The Pedro Sánchez government in Spain banned the shipment of American weapons to Israel through military bases in Rota and Morón, located in the European nation, but used by the United States (USA).

This measure blocks the passage of planes or ships loaded with weapons bound for the occupied Palestinian territories through military bases in Rota (Cádiz) and Morón (Seville), in addition to other actions taken by Madrid in protest against the Israeli genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.

In this regard, Spain prevents the passage of “United States planes or ships loaded with weapons, ammunition or military equipment, both those that go directly” to occupied Palestine, “and those that have it as their final destination after an intermediate stopover,” as published by Hispantv of the Joint Spanish-North American Committee.

The veto occurs while both facilities have been used for years by the United States. “Rota and Morón are bases of Spanish sovereignty, under the command of a Spanish military, and everything that happens there must be authorized by the Spanish authorities,” the sources added, stressing that these two facilities “are not a colander”.
