This Wednesday, January 22, the governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, reaffirmed to President Nicolás Maduro that following his instructions, security and strategic services have been reinforced at the border crossings between Puerto Santander and Boca de Frita; the Francisco de Paula Santander Bridge in Ureña, the Atanasio Girardot Bridge in Tienditas and the Simon Bolivar Bridge.

In addition, within the framework of the Start of the Bolivarian Shield Military Exercises 2025, he indicated that security was also reinforced in the multiple irregular crossings that exist on the Venezuelan border with neighboring countries. At the same time, he emphasized that the security forces in the state of Táchira have remained deployed in perfect Popular-Military-Police union.

“Today, thank God, we have a peaceful border (...) And here we are active in this battle for peace, as we say: It won't be around here! Here we are alert 24 hours a day,” he said.

On the other hand, he emphasized that Venezuela, in solidarity with Colombia, once again, is serving in solidarity with the more than 30,000 displaced persons who have caused the war between violent groups in the neighboring country.
