Governor Luna: Let the empires know that Monagas has been and will continue to be an impregnable land

The governor of the state of Monagas, Ernesto Luna, recalled how this eastern land remained free during the era of independence against the Spanish Empire and remarked that with that same determination the people of Monagua today will guarantee that in the face of any attempt at imperial aggression this territory remains impregnable.

“We are in the Sultana del Guarapiche, in the heroic Maturín, in the warrior Monagas, in this impregnable land where, just like 200 years ago in our independence struggle our liberating parents, our liberating grandparents fought important battles to free us from the yoke and the Spanish empire 200 years, then here we are also their children, their grandchildren taking on the necessary duty with a political conscience”, he emphasized.

During the activation of the Integral Defense Management Body (ODDI) of the Monagas state, the president maintained that the people of Monagua “are ready to defend our homeland and continue to tell the entire world and to internal and external enemies that we have decided to be free, sovereign and independent.”
