Governor of Guárico, alleged mass evacuation of the municipality of San Jerónimo de Guayabal

The governor of the state of Guárico, Donald Donaire, denied the false information that has been circulating on Social Networks about an alleged mass evacuation of the municipality of San Jerónimo de Guayabal.

“There are reports of ill-intentioned people wanting to show that we are going to a mass evacuation, it's totally false,” he said in a message posted on his Instagram account.

Donaire was accompanied by the commander of the REDI de los Llanos and the commander of ZODI Guarico and the Mayor of the San Jerónimo de Guayabal municipality, Nairoby García.

“We have been reviewing the situation in the San Gerónimo municipality, and we also received a visit from the Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán and Jorge Márquez of Public Works. We are constantly working to serve the population that has been affected by the floods of the Portuguesa River and the Apure River,” he said.

He also called on the people of Guayabal to remain calm. “Here is the national, regional and municipal government together with the Bolivarian National Armed Forces in permanent work, they are not alone,” he said.
