The governor of the state of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán, said that the Carnival of 2026 left a favorable balance for the entity.
“We passed the million and so tourists who came to the state during the carnival,” he emphasized during an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
Terán highlighted that families were able to enjoy the beaches without incident, stressing that there were no episodes of violence or deaths due to immersion and indicated that the behavior of citizens evidenced advances in practices of coexistence, recreation and culture of peace during the season.
The regional governor specified that around a thousand people linked to the beach economy and more than 3,500 service entrepreneurs in the entity benefited from the tourism movement.
He recalled that last year more than 40 million dollars were raised thanks to the carnival activity and assured that this time the figure will exceed 50 million dollars, resources that will remain in circulation in the local economy.
Terán highlighted that the influx of visitors responds to the need of Venezuelan families to have days of rest and spaces to share.
He added that the State has reinforced guidance on the responsible use of beaches, rivers and mountains, as well as the importance of hospitality and quality of service to receive seasonal tourists.
The governor invited visitors to return to their homes in peace and with respect for security measures, while recognizing the work of the institutions that guaranteed the right to entertainment and recreation during the carnival season.
