The governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, described this Saturday, January 03, as a flagrant abuse of power the operation of the president of the United States, Donald Trump to kidnap the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, as well as the attack on Venezuela, warning that he acted without the approval of Congress, the SWI website reported.

In a message to his X account, Hochul, from the Democratic Party, stressed that “New York shelters a vibrant Venezuelan community”, while assuring that he remains “at the side of families, both in the state and abroad, who hope for a more stable future.”

For her part, New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is part of the progressive wing of the Democrats, stated on the same social network that the operation was not about drugs.

“If that were the case, Trump would not have pardoned one of the world's biggest drug traffickers last month,” referring to Juan Orlando Hernández, former president of Honduras, whom the US president pardoned last month.

“It's about oil and regime change. They need a trial now to pretend that this is not the case, especially to distract from the Epstein case and the increase in health costs,” said Ocasio-Cortez, referring to the file of the greatest pedophile in the United States who was a close friend of Trump.
