Eight days after the kidnapping of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the First Combatant, Cilia Flores, the Neo-Spartan people are still mobilized in the 11 municipalities with anti-imperialist marches and Tribunes to demand the immediate release of the presidential couple.
From Plaza Bolívar in Boca del Río, in the Macana Peninsula municipality, the governor of the entity, Marisel Velásquez and Mayor Carlos Sulbarán, led a large rally in which the support of the People of Macanao for the national leader and for the defense of sovereignty was demonstrated.
The governor stressed that the People of Nueva Esparta are on the street, raising their voices and demanding the release of the Head of State and the First Lady.
“We tell the North American empire that enough is enough, what it did with Venezuela was an assault, a fight where so many men and women died in defense of independence and sovereignty,” he emphasized in a review published on the website of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
He also made an emphatic call for the union of all Bolivarian forces and for the “perfect civic-military-police fusion” to preserve peace in the state of Nueva Esparta. “We must be more united than ever; perfect unity is our strength,” he said.
For his part, Mayor Carlos Sulbarán affirmed that the Venezuelan people are characterized by peace, joy and unity. “Under the precise instructions of our governor, we call on all residents to remain calm, but to be alert and raise their voices,” he said.
Cristian García, a young resident of Boca del Río, insisted that the People do not give up and maintain their presence in the streets, networks and media demanding the release of the President, while stressing the importance of preserving tranquility in the territory.
On the other hand, Agundina Hernández, representative of the fishermen in the area, also demanded the release of the national leaders, assuring that they have the full support of the fishermen in the jurisdiction.
