Thanks to a joint effort between the Ministries of Culture and Education, the José Ángel Lamas School of Music was reinaugurated this Friday, August 16, in Caracas.

“This is a work that today reaches the hearts of Venezuelan youth and that has a lot of history to tell,” said the head of the education portfolio Yelitze Santaella, who added that with the launch of the school's activities, the Telematics Center also begins, which will be at the service of students who develop their skills on this site.

“Today we offer a program for them to graduate as a higher university technician in music and cultivate art and talent,” he said.

“We are fulfilling the Great Mission Viva Venezuela Mi Patria Querida, which includes among its vertices the construction of more infrastructures and sites for culture. This sacred site is located on one of the blocks of colonial Caracas, so it has an unquestionable historical significance that is being opened for the right and use of the enjoyment of cultural rights of Venezuelans,” said the minister of culture Ernesto Villegas.

Villegas added his gratitude to the Ministry of Education for the work done to recover the infrastructure, as well as to the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro and the deputy Cristóbal Jiménez, who took on the task in his personal capacity.
