This Tuesday, August 6, the grandmothers and grandparents of the Homeland marched through the city center to the Miraflores Palace in support of the victory of President Nicolás Maduro and his social policies in support of him.
This is a response given, by this sector of the population, when a Great National March for Peace took to the streets and in support of the people's decision to elect Nicolás Maduro as president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Among the walkers, there was María Rodríguez who said she was going to Caracas from Ocumare del Tuy. “Here I am in defense of my president. The man who has made us visible and given importance. We thank him very, very much (...) he is a worthy son of Chávez”.
For his part, Alexis Fereira said that “Nicolás Maduro is a good man. He is aware that at some point we will all reach old age and as such he values and treats us. He has offered us special care plans for us, he respects and dignifies us.”
Pablo Flores also stressed that he would walk as many blocks as necessary if that evidenced his support for Gallo Pinto. “We have no doubt about his victory. Only Nicolás Madura guarantees peace, security and continuity of social policies in this country (...) It's impossible to think that anyone else could be president of the country that belongs to us in the revolution.”
