Last Thursday, the People's Group called for “sovereign elections, with guarantees and without economic sanctions” for Venezuela, to prevent anyone or anything from putting “at risk the peaceful will of Venezuelan society to build its future with prosperity and respect.”

In a statement, the group that brings together former leaders and other progressive and left-wing politicians from Ibero-America stated that “it has always defended dialogue, negotiation and the electoral path for Venezuela.”

“It has rejected as immoral and illegal the unilateral sanctions that have seriously damaged the living conditions of millions of Venezuelans, causing massive migratory flows that, with good reason, concern neighboring countries, the United States (USA) and Europe,” the organization details.
