In a strategic deployment aimed at combating cybercrime, officials of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIP) of the Autonomous Municipal Police Institute of Guaicaipura, together with officials from the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), carried out the seizure of a significant batch of crypto mining technology in Los Teques parish.
The procedure took place in a house in the Piedra Azul residential area, Lagunetica community. During the inspection, police officers detected an undeclared technological infrastructure, allegedly used for the processing of cryptographic algorithms to the detriment of the Venezuelan State's national electricity system.
A total of 204 items for computer use were found on the site, including:
ASIC equipment: 70 high-power miners (Whatsminer M30S and Antminer models), most of them operational and with integrated power supplies.
Critical components: 61 printed circuit boards (PCBs) with specialized microprocessors for hashing calculations, plus 17 high-performance switched power supplies.
Computer equipment: 3 ThinkCentre desktop computers, a Sony VAIO laptop and various spare parts for the maintenance of the digital farm.
The case has been brought to the order of the Public Ministry of the State of Miranda, who will coordinate the corresponding actions. The Guaicaipura Municipal Police reaffirms its commitment to the surveillance and control of technological activities that operate outside the national law.
