With a series of works, the government of Guárico fully recovers the Old Thermal Hotel in San Juan de los Morros, an important structure in a state of neglect that, at the time, was the epicenter of tourism in the region.
With 105 years of history, the emblematic building will be reactivated as a center of culture, art and leisure for the enjoyment of the community. The rehabilitation plan includes the total replacement of wooden beams, the reinforcement of concrete slabs, the restoration of walls and subsequent painting, among other tasks.
In this regard, Governor Donald Donaire emphasized in a press release that “the Thermal Hotel is a jewel of our identity. By rehabilitating it, we are not just rescuing a building; we are reactivating the tourist engine of San Juan de los Morros.”
The old Thermal Hotel was inaugurated in 1920 during the administration of General Juan Vicente Gómez. It quickly established itself as a social focus that attracted prominent political figures, establishing the capital of Llanera as a nerve center at the national level.
