Guatemalan representative: We join the call for peace in the Caribbean in the face of threats from the United States

During his speech at the Meeting of Parliamentarians of the Greater Caribbean for Peace, the representative of Guatemala Edgar Sis expressed his support for consolidating the Caribbean as a region of permanent peace, while addressing fraternal greetings to the Venezuelan people and recognizing the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro in the face of imperial aggressions.
Sis denounced that his country is governed by those subordinate to the interests imposed by the United States. However, he affirmed that the people of Guatemala join the Caribbean's struggles for sovereignty and self-determination.
Sis condemned the actions of the United States against Venezuela and other Caribbean nations, stressing that the real objective is not to combat drug trafficking, but to appropriate the resources of peoples. In this context, he highlighted the steadfastness of the Venezuelan people and expressed his recognition to progressive countries that defend their rights.
“The fight for peace does not belong to a single people, but to all of us who face sanctions, blockades and lies. We unite so that our peoples triumph,” Sis concluded, reaffirming its commitment to regional integration. Sis concluded, reiterating its commitment to regional integration.
