The Government of
Guinea-Bissau expressed its solidarity with the People of the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro, following the criminal military
attack carried out by the United States Army (USA) on
January 3 against the Latin American nation, which led to the kidnapping of the Head
of State and First Lady Cilia Flores.
This was reported by the
Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, who explained
on his Telegram channel that he received a call from the Minister of
Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities of the African country,
Joao Bernardo Vieira.
He highlighted that his
Guinean counterpart expressed “their total solidarity with President Nicolás Maduro
Moros, as well as their rejection of the illegal attack” by the United States against the
Venezuelan people, “which has violated our sovereignty, all international norms and the Zone of Peace proclaimed by Caribbean
and Latin American nations in 2014.”
