The Presidential Transitional Council in Haiti, through a first statement, reported that its objectives include restoring public and democratic order, regaining stability and alleviating the suffering of the people.

The entity created on March 11 by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), with representatives from Haiti, the United Nations (UN) and the international community, affirms that it has already developed the criteria and mechanisms for the election of the President of the Council, the appointment of a new head of Government and the cabinet of ministers.

This is in order to “alleviate the suffering of the Haitian people, trapped for too long between bad governance, multiform violence and disregard for their perspectives and needs”.
