The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced that the next release of Israeli detainees will take place on Saturday, January 25, as scheduled. The second phase of the prisoner exchange will take place on the scheduled date, said Hamas during Monday night.

Four new Israeli detainees are expected to be released as part of the first phase of the agreement in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and detainees who are in Israeli regime prisons.

On Wednesday, Israel and Hamas agreed to a three-phase ceasefire that could end the 15-month war in Gaza. The ceasefire came into effect on Sunday with the release of three Israeli detainees by Hamas. Israel also released 90 Palestinian prisoners and detainees.

The agreement establishes an initial phase of six weeks and contemplates the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and the release of those held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by the Israeli regime.

Palestinian fighters published images of the release of the first three Israeli detainees and their handing over to the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip. They emphasized that these people are in perfect health, which demonstrates the treatment they received, in contrast to the genocide perpetrated by Zionist forces against the civilian population of Palestine.

Despite committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, Israel was unable to achieve its stated objectives in the war, including eliminating Hamas and freeing Israeli prisoners in Gaza by force, so it was forced to reach a truce agreement with the Palestinian movement.
