This Friday, the Resistance Movement in Palestine (HAMAS) urged the international community to pressure the Zionist government of Israel to immediately lift the humanitarian blockade on the Gaza Strip.

Basem Naim, a member of the political office of Hamas, stated that the report requires “urgent measures”, especially from the Security Council of the United Nations (UN), to force Israel to fulfill its obligations and allow aid to enter.

For his part, the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, described the situation in Gaza as a “man-made” famine and a “deliberate collapse of the systems necessary for human survival”.

Guterres directly held Israel, as the occupying power, responsible for guaranteeing food and medical supplies, and urged an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages and full humanitarian access, stressing that “excuses are over”.
