Castro de Leones from Caracas of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), five games were enough since his season
premiere to win the Player of the Week Award.
Castro received 34.1% of the votes from the accredited press to cover the campaign's incidents. He was closely escorted by receiver Jeferson Quero (29.3%) from Cardenales de Lara and big league pitcher Andry Lara (19.5%), from Águilas del Zulia, LVBP reports.
The skilled left-handed hitter showed an offensive line of .545/ .542/ .818 and led the circuit in hits (12) and bases reached (18, along with Rougned Odor) to sweep the period between October 28 and November 2, receiving recognition for the third time in his career.
Junior Guerra (Magallanes), Claudio Custodio (Bravos), Leobaldo Piña (Tigres), Silvino Bracho (Eagles) and Rougned Odor (Magallanes) were also nominated for election.
