The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated the 21st Anniversary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), as well as its transcendent role in the fight for “independence and the right to justice in our region”.
“We celebrate 21 years of battles, victories and hope for the ALBA-TCP. It was that giant step that was taken in Havana, when the dawn of the 21st century was just dawning,” he recalled in his account on the social network Telegram.
He also emphasized the critical role of Commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro in signing the founding document of “this powerful alliance of peace, cooperation and hope.”
The head of state vindicated the role of ALBA-TCP in the construction of a multipolar, pluricentric world, free of hegemony, equality and respect. “We are an alliance of warriors of peace, based on Bolivar, Martí, Sandino, Fidel and Chávez,” he said.
He also completely repudiated any return to the previous condition of colonialism and slavery that prevailed in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The National President characterized the geopolitical block as an “immense moral, political and social force that is on the ground”, to produce social, economic, cultural and political-diplomatic responses.
“We dream of true union and liberation of our continent,” he emphasized.
He highlighted that the ALBA-TCP is at the forefront of major geopolitical events, as a front in defense of independence and the right to justice in Latin America.
