The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros,
announced, during the meeting of the National Defense Council and Council
of State, the suspension of live access to her account on the
social network Tik-tok until August 19.
The Head of State explained that the reason for the suspension is
due to the live broadcast of the acts of violence generated during
the guarimbas, so he described the
representatives of this network as “bandits and immoral”, because “all these videos are from Tik Tok, they
were broadcast live and live by thousands on Monday, July 29, Tuesday, July 30
, Wednesday, July 31 and subsequent days; everyone who has TikTok got in and saw live and direct all the assaults on schools,
universities, public squares, mayors, houses of political parties.”
“You, TikTok, you are immoral and you come
to censor so that the truth cannot be seen, so that the world does not know the truth; you
are afraid of live broadcasts and you are not going to shut me up, you are not going to shut up Venezuela,” he
said .
He said that the issue of networks is a universal issue and human
society is reacting. “Each country has achieved its model for
dealing with the topic of social networks (...) What are means of communicating? They
are, but they are also means for war.”
Finally, he recognized the efforts made by the National
Assembly to pass laws against fascism and hate.
