President Nicolás Maduro, during the Venezuelan Fisherman's Day celebration, announced the start of the Coporo Plan with the delivery of the first 75 grants to artisanal aquaculturists.

This investment in fish farming is aimed at reactivating 570 hectares of water mirror, equivalent to 20% of small-scale artisanal aquaculture.

The Minister of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Juan Loyo, highlighted that the breeding of coporo, in lagoons, pools and tanks produces greater returns than cachama because the investment in its diet is lower.
