Head of State authorizes “General Domingo Antonio Sifontes” Joint Action Military Exercise (+Guyana)

This Thursday, December 28, President Nicolás Maduro authorized the Joint Action Military Exercise “General Domingo Antonio Sifontes 2023", in the Gulf of Paria, in the state of Sucre.
During the New Year's Salutation ceremony to the glorious Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), on a VTV broadcast, President Nicolás Maduro authorized Admiral Neil Jesús Villamizar Sánchez, commander general of the Bolivarian Navy, to initiate Joint Action Domingo Sifontes, in response to the threat and provocation following the arrival of the British ship HMS Trent in Guyana.
On board the Alfa Bravo Guaiquerí ocean surveillance patrol boat, Villamizar explained that 5,682 Bolivarian fighters, equipped and trained under the tactical method of resistance for the defense of the Homeland, will form part of the military army.
“This exercise will be carried out in the territory of the Maritime, Insular and Atlantic Integral Defense Operational Zone, in the Gulf of Paria and in the Orinoco Delta,” he explained.
President Nicolás Maduro authorized the deployment of the joint, defensive exercise “to defend the peace, integrity of Venezuela and to respond to the unacceptable threat of the United Kingdom against our Homeland.”
