Head of State: Bolivarian Shield Exercises are for training against external and internal threats

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that within the framework of the Bolivarian Shield Military Exercises 2025, the Bolivarian Government has so far carried out more than 290 territorial defense actions.

He stressed that this Wednesday, January 22, “we began the Exercises in defense of democracy, sovereignty and peace. Bolivarian Shields 2025, throughout the national territory.

“Preparing ourselves, I say and repeat every day, soldiers of my country, men and women of my country and I say it to this people who are on the march,” he said.

He argued that “these Exercises are to keep the muscle of the Republic trained, ready to defend itself against external and internal threats. I always say: if you want peace, prepare for war. To preserve and build peace.”

He said this at the People's Balcony in the Miraflores Palace, where he received the mobilization of the revolutionary people, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 67th Anniversary of the Popular Insurrection of January 23, 1958, which marked the overthrow of the dictatorship of Marcos Pérez Jiménez.

On the mobilization of the revolutionary people on a national scale, he said that “today was a wonderful day”.
