Head of State celebrates ceasefire agreement in Gaza: Good news for humanity

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip this Wednesday and stressed that this is “good news for humanity”.

During the presentation of his Annual Message to the Nation, from the Teresa Carreño Theater, the Head of State stated that “important changes are beginning in humanity. We are part of the vanguard of these great changes, we earned it hard with effort, intelligence and courage.”

He noted that the agreement reached between the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and the Israeli government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, was announced by the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohamed bin Abderrahmán, “after intense and lengthy negotiations and after the pain, the genocide that we have witnessed from Venezuela.”

In this regard, he urged that “the whole of humanity come together to fulfill and open times of peace, of reconstruction, of justice for the people of Palestine, for the Arab peoples and for the peoples of the world. Venezuela supports the Arab peoples and the Palestinian people with a great embrace of brotherhood,” he said.

The Dignitary highlighted the need to find understanding, respect for international law and respect for life. “Let's seek peace in the world,” he urged.
