Head of State: Happy start to the month of Ramadan!

“Happy start to the month of Ramadan to our brothers and sisters in the Muslim community around the world. In this sacred time of spiritual purification, I want God to grant them peace, well-being and happiness.” This is how the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro expressed himself from the social network X.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, respected by Muslims around the world as the month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. Each year the month in which Ramadan is celebrated changes around the lunar month. It is a commemoration of Muhammad's first revelation. The annual observance of Ramadan is considered to be one of the Five Pillars of Islam and lasts from twenty-nine to thirty days, starting from the waxing moon until the next waxing moon.
