On the morning of this Wednesday, January 22, the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, detailed the practical objectives of the Bolivarian Shield Military Exercise 2025 initiated throughout the national territory. He stated that “if you want peace, you need to take the lead, defend it and preserve it.”
“Venezuela has had great success in fighting, defeating and dismembering criminal groups at the root and that is why I put my experience to order for those who need it,” he said.
He stressed that with few exceptions in some places these groups have been defeated and crushed, since they support paramilitarism and drug trafficking from Colombia with the country's public enemies.
The Head of State pointed out that among the elements to be addressed with the Bolivarian Shield Military Exercise 2025 are border control and territorial defense, as well as the defense of maritime spaces and comprehensive space air space.
He added that the exercise of sovereignty will be reviewed because “if it is not exercised it is lost, in practice”.
Other issues to be addressed with the exercises are the “protection of vital facilities for the functioning of the country, defense of communication routes and mobility capacity of the country and comprehensive protection of cities, towns, airports, education centers and training to have a high capacity for comprehensive defense in the face of any surprise”.
In total, the Head of State outlined six issues that will be addressed by the Bolivarian Shield Exercise.
“Today we are starting with all our people on the tenth anniversary of the exercises to defend what we have achieved and are consolidating.”
